This weekend, my hubby and I went out to one of our favourite thrift stores, Housing Works. We found some great books, posters, and lovely shelf thingie (I’ll post about it some other time). Clothing wise, I usually find things that are too small, so in this case I definitely prefer finding posters, old books, and little bits for the home. My 5 reasons why vintage home stuff is great:
- They always fit 😉
- It doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
- Many items are one of a kind.
- Allow you to create your own home style.
- They’re vintage, so you have a little piece of the past!
The kitchen is a great place to add a little bit of vintage flair. You can get great cutlery, plate sets, tea sets, clocks, etc. There are many things out there not only in thrift shops, but also online. I especially love stumbling on novelty items. Here are some lovely items I found:
Kitchen Canister Set
Salt & Pepper Shakers
Tea Bag Holders
Strawberry Cookie Jar
Salt & Pepper Shakers/ Corkscrew & Bottle Opener Set
Funny Kitchen Sign
Treasury of these lovely items can be found HERE.
I will be doing a series on the different rooms of the house including the Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom, Bedroom, Hallway. Is there any other room you’d like me to include? Please comment below to let me know!
