Your Vintage Home: The Kitchen


This weekend, my hubby and I went out to one of our favourite thrift stores, Housing Works. We found some great books, posters, and lovely shelf thingie (I’ll post about it some other time). Clothing wise, I usually find things that are too small, so in this case I definitely prefer finding posters, old books, and little bits for the home. My 5 reasons why vintage home stuff is great:

  1. They always fit 😉
  2. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
  3. Many items are one of a kind.
  4. Allow you to create your own home style.
  5. They’re vintage, so you have a little piece of the past!


The kitchen is a great place to add a little bit of vintage flair. You can get great cutlery, plate sets, tea sets, clocks, etc. There are many things out there not only in thrift shops, but also online. I especially love stumbling on novelty items. Here are some lovely items I found:
