Happy Saturday Everyone!
What a lovely day it is here in Brooklyn, NY. The weather is in full spring mode, and I am here working on my thesis (well posting this first), while my lovely husband works on his website. Of course staying in on such a beautiful day seems like a waste, tomorrow is our going out day, which we’ll probably spend playing Frisbee in Prospect Park or laying around and reading some books. And on the plus side, I’m graduating May 30th, and really looking forward to spending loads of time on this blog. 🙂
Today I wanted to share with you, my favourite blogs and youtube channels, they really inspire me and make me feel like the art of vintage style is very much alive and thriving all around the world. So, let’s get started, and note this list is not in any particular order, and their site and info will be provided so you can check them out too!
I’ll start with youtube:
This channel has tutorials on hair/nails/make up. I enjoy the channel because the tutorials are easy to follow and everything is categorized. I’m trying to figure out what to do with my hair next, but having youtube channels like this one helps with inspiring me.
Though her youtube channel is called Lisa Freemont, her name is Ashley and her channel has been my go to for amazing hair tutorials and honest product reviews. I find that many people who end up sponsored, begin using very expensive product and there is a disconnection between the person making the video and the person watching the video at home, this is not the case here. Plus, she’s just fun to watch and is always bubbly.
What better way to learn about vintage make up and hair that to view actual vintage videos and see photos of the glamor of the past? Glamour Daze is definitely on to something here and I can’t get enough of the amusing videos, and the simpler day of just some lipstick, powder, and blush. They also provide digital books for anyone who’s interested in trying out vintage hair styles at home. So check it out!
Now on to blogs,
A pin up is not a pin up without some sexy lingerie. Cora’s site has been my go to for interesting reads, latest updates, and when you sign up to her email list, every week you’ll get a list of sales for various lingerie sites. Its amazing! Not many may see our sexy knickers, but they add the confidence and sexy feeling every woman deserves to feel. So whenever you’re in the mood to treat yourself or someone to a new pair of sexy, vintage inspired undergarments, visit The Lingerie site first to get all the info you need. 😉
As a New Yorker, and someone who doesn’t know too many people in the area who are in to vintage, its very refreshing to stumble upon local fellow Vintage lovers. She has her own unique take on vintage fashion and her blog is filled with wonderful photography and fashion inspirational posts.
I love Lauren’s blog, period. It has everything you need and I enjoy reading anything and everything she posts!
Other blogs/youtube channels I love, but are not necessarily vintage, but VERY nice:
http://www.youtube.com/user/brittkneegirl1 – love her hair/clothes/make up videos
http://www.youtube.com/user/NikkieTutorials – amazing make up tutorials
http://www.youtube.com/user/lilithedarkmoon – The BEST creative hairstyle tutorials on youtube
So there you have it, these are my latest online favourites for my hair/make up/fashion and all that good stuff. I hope you guys check out these channels and blogs and enjoy them as much as I do.
Have a great weekend!
